These Terms of Use govern your use of Bowls Rating (the public analytics website) and Bowls Hub (the authenticated training product), including Club Admin features if you are authorised to use them. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled — see Privacy Policy.
1. About these Terms
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use Bowls Rating or Bowls Hub. Features may change during the public beta. The current version of these Terms is dated 9 August 2026.
2. About Bowls Rating
Bowls Rating is an independent analytics service focused on Victorian lawn bowls, currently offered as a public beta. It is not affiliated with Bowls Victoria, BowlsLink or any official governing body. Bowls Hub is the private training area available to signed-in users.
3. Public pennant data
Public results, profiles and related analytics are independently processed from publicly available pennant and sporting records. Errors, omissions, identity ambiguity, incomplete records or delayed updates may occur. Where you need an official confirmation of a result or competition standing, consult the official governing-body or source records. Those sources remain authoritative if there is a discrepancy.
You can report data issues through Feedback / Report a data issue.
4. Ratings and ladders
Premier ratings are Bowls Rating’s own analytical ratings and are not official rankings or selection lists.
Competition ladders are independently reconstructed from publicly available match results and applicable competition rules; BowlsLink remains the official source of record.
We aim for useful analytics, but we do not guarantee that every rating, ladder position or public statistic is complete, current or free from error.
5. Bowls Hub accounts
- Provide accurate information when creating an account.
- Keep your login credentials confidential and use a strong password.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
- If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password and contact us via Feedback.
- Ordinary accounts are personal. Creating an account does not grant Club Admin access.
6. Bowls Hub training information
Practice analytics, coach insights and related recommendations are informational training tools. They depend on data you enter or record and are not guarantees of sporting performance. They are not medical advice and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional if you have health concerns about training.
7. Private user content and data
You retain appropriate rights in the content and training data you provide. Bowls Rating may process and store that information as needed to operate, secure and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy. Under current functionality, personal Bowls Hub training data is not publicly shared.
We do not claim ownership of your private practice notes, match notes or similar personal training content merely because you store them in Bowls Hub.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service unlawfully
- attempt to bypass authentication or authorisation controls
- access another person's private account or private Bowls Hub data
- interfere with or disrupt the service, or attempt to overload it
- abuse credentials, invitations or Club Admin permissions
- use automated activity in a way that harms availability, security or other users
- introduce malicious code
9. Club Admin
Club Admin and related club tools are permission-based. Ordinary account creation does not provide Club Admin access. Authorised users must only access and use club data for legitimate authorised club purposes. Access may be removed when authorisation ends or if misuse occurs. Club Admin access can be removed independently of a personal Bowls Hub account where appropriate.
10. Intellectual property
Subject to applicable law, Bowls Rating owns or is licensed to use the website software, design, original written content, proprietary rating models, original analytics and compilations we create, to the extent those materials are protectable.
Displaying publicly available pennant facts does not mean we claim ownership of underlying third-party facts. Names and trademarks of clubs, associations and other organisations remain with their respective owners.
11. Availability and beta status
Bowls Rating is a public beta. Features and data may change, be corrected or be updated. Temporary outages or degraded performance may occur. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.
12. Accuracy and reliance
We make reasonable efforts to present useful public analytics and a reliable training product. We do not guarantee that every public record, result, rating or ladder is complete, current or error-free. Where an official competition outcome matters, check the official source.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Bowls Rating is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and we exclude warranties that can lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law that apply to you.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to re-supply of the services or payment of the cost of re-supply, where that limitation is permitted.
14. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the service at any time.
- We may suspend or restrict access for serious misuse, security risk or breach of these Terms.
- You may request account deletion through Feedback; self-service deletion is not currently built into the product.
- Club Admin authorisation may be withdrawn independently of personal Bowls Hub access.
15. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product changes. The updated version and date will be posted on this page. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to users' attention (for example by updating the date prominently on this page or noting it in product communications where appropriate). Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
17. Governing law
These Terms are intended for use of Bowls Rating as an Australian online service. The specific Australian State or Territory whose laws govern these Terms will be stated here once confirmed by the operator. Until then, if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Nothing in this section limits rights under the Australian Consumer Law that apply to you.
